Horn
Logan Bryck began playing with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra as a regular substitute in 2022, before being appointed to the core orchestra as utility horn in 2025.
Outside of opera season, he enjoys a varied and active freelance schedule, playing both high horn and low horn, section and principal, on all different kinds of horns, around the Bay Area and beyond. Orchestrally, he has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Ballet, Oregon Symphony, Auckland Philharmonia, Sarasota Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony, and others. He has appeared as principal horn with the Midsummer Mozart Festival Orchestra, Marin Symphony, Auckland Philharmonia, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and Eugene Symphony.
Bryck began playing the horn in his public school band outside Portland, Oregon. During his undergraduate studies at Oberlin Conservatory, he was offered a fellowship at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, where he had the opportunity to study for a summer with Julie Landsman of the Metropolitan Opera. He went on to graduate studies with Landsman at the Juilliard School, and spent additional summers as a fellow at the Music Academy before and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
