John Burgardt has been the Principal Timpanist of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra for 22 years. In the Opera’s offseason John has played recently with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Ballet, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, and the Cleveland Orchestra. Before coming to the Opera John spent three years as Principal Timpanist of the New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.
