Stephanie McNab

Flute & Piccolo

Our piccolo player Stephanie McNab joined the San Francisco Opera Orchestra in 2002. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Stephanie attended UCLA where she majored in Music and studied with Sheridon Stokes.

An active member of the Bay Area music community, she often plays as a guest artist with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and San Francisco Symphony. She has also made frequent guest piccolo appearances with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Before moving to the Bay Area, Stephanie held positions with the Buffalo Philharmonic, New Mexico Symphony and the Long Beach (CA) Symphony. She has performed as a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Carmel Bach Festival and last year performed the Chaminade Concertino with the Merced Symphony.

When not performing or teaching, Stephanie likes to travel with her 11-year-old son. Their long term travel goals include planning visits to all 50 states and their capitals.
